这台标准水样采水器，系在绳索上，沉入水中，在这个过程中，采水器保持敞开。当到达预期的深度时，将使锤从绳索上释放，当它击中标准水样采水器时，采水器上的闭锁器开始作用，采样管关闭。; n' k9 k1 z2 H$ p- [( h6 D, a
采水器上有一个量程为-2℃~+30℃的温度计，会显示样品的温度。温度可以很容易地透过水样采水器的透明塑料管读出。样品可以从水样采集器（采水器）底盖的排水旋塞中排出，进行各种分析研究。
